||
A prolific thief and burglar who has also committed public order offences in Kidderminster has been banned from entering the town centre until May 2027. Jason Baker, 53, of no fixed abode, has been convicted of thefts, burglaries, assaults, public order offences that have had a detrimental impact on business and members of the public alike in the town and is currently in prison until at least October. Yesterday (Wednesday 10 September), following extensive work by Kidderminster town centre team and West Mercia’s prevention hub, Baker’s Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) was amended at Worcester Crown Court. Upon his release from prison, he will be banned from entering the town centre as defined by the ring road (except for Lower Mill street to access Church Street Medical Surgery). Along with existing conditions, originally granted at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on 24 May 2024, the amendment prohibits him from entering the town centre until 24 May 2027. These full conditions are now as follows: - Baker must not: - 1) Enter Church Street, Kidderminster 2) Refuse to leave any premises when asked to do so by any person having authority. 3) Enter the Lion Hotel or any Tesco store in Kidderminster. 4) Enter Kidderminster Town Centre as defined by map showing ring road area, except for Lower Mill street to access Church Street Medical Surgery only (and pharmacy within the surgery). PC Richard Clayon of Kidderminster town centre team said: “We are pleased to get his CBO amendment for Baker who is a high harm individual whose actions have impacted businesses and members of the public in the town centre. “We hope this court order will protect our communities from his offending upon his release and anyone who sees him in the prohibited areas should report it to 101 or via our website at Report a crime | West Mercia Police .” | ||
